True Rx Health Strategists exceeding growth forecast, expanding at 30% annual rate, 86 new jobs since 2020
July 29, 2022
WASHINGTON, Indiana – With a focus on “strategically and ethically driven solutions that deliver best outcomes,” True Rx Health Strategists has achieved an annual national growth rate of 30%, “well exceeding our initial growth forecast,” said Mark Williams, CEO. The national pharmacy benefit management (PBM) company has hired 86 employees since 2020, when it first announced plans for the construction of a $1.8 million facility now open on the east side of Washington near I-69.
True Rx, which serves patients and employers in all 50 states, now has 107 employees in its new 15,000 sq. ft. facility and “anticipates hiring several more people through 2022 to serve our network of more than 65,000 pharmacies,” added Williams. The pharmacist-led and family-owned company was named a 2022 “Best Places to Work” leader by the Indiana Chamber, which Williams said “reflects the positive environment and corporate culture at True Rx that is helping to drive our growth.”
“Hoosier companies like True Rx form the bedrock on which Indiana will continue to build on its economic momentum and position the state for long-term growth and success,” said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. “I was privileged to be at the initial ground-breaking for this important new facility, and I offer congratulations to True Rx for its success, both now and in the future.”
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered performance-based incentives for True Rx employee expansion and the Washington City Council provided a tax abatement to support the new facility, which is expandable to 30,000 sq. ft.
The location of True Rx in a rural area increases its positive economic impact. “Many companies like True Rx could be located in urban areas, and the fact that the Williams family has chosen to grow their national business in the city of Washington is a major benefit to the region,” said Denny Spinner, executive director of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).
The expanded capacity has positively and directly impacted True Rx growth. “With expanded capacity, we are able to hire more health strategists to take care of our clients and patients at the level of service they have come to rely on,” explained Williams. “True Rx Health Strategists believes exceptional care to our patients and clients starts with our employees.
“The new building helps to promote our internal team culture of care with work environment features including a patio, stand-up desks, a walking path, a wellness room, and team collaboration rooms,” he continued. “With the new office and additional workplace improvements, we plan to continue to attract a qualified workforce that will add to the growing robust environment here in Washington.”
For five generations, the Williams Brothers family has held the privilege of taking care of patients in Washington and Daviess County. CEO Mark Williams, RPh, founded True Rx Health Strategists with his brother CC Williams in part because employers routinely asked him for professional advice about dealing with the rising cost of medications. Under his leadership, True Rx Health Strategists has grown from a regional pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) to a national company serving employers and members across the country with health, integrity, innovation, and care.
“Through decades of health care experience, our pharmacists and health strategists help business owners control rising medication costs through innovative clinical solutions, no-spread pricing, rebates passed to the client, clear contracts, and focused attention on patients,” explained Mark Williams. “We achieve success by delivering high-value best outcomes for both employers and patients.”
Mark and CC Williams also own and operate the Williams Bros Health Care Pharmacy company, employing more than 500 people at 14 locations in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
“True Rx Management Services has achieved a leadership position in its industry by providing strategic and ethical pharmaceutical support that delivers high value for employers, employees and government agencies,” said Washington Mayor Dave Rhoads. “With an impressive national network, True Rx’s performance in providing prescription drug benefits to employers and patients alike represents an important part of national healthcare delivery and we are appreciative of their decision to expand here in Washington.”
The True Rx expansion enjoys continental supply chain access with its proximity to I-69, according to Jeff Quyle, president and CEO of Radius Indiana. “The I-69 corridor facilitates access to workforce and supply chain assets, and is one of many reasons that companies like True Rx Health Strategists can thrive here in southern Indiana,” he said. “The True Rx service sector jobs help to diversify the Daviess County economy and strengthen the regional foundation for growth and expansion.”
“True Rx and the Williams family represent a vital partnership that is driving strategic growth in Washington and Daviess County,” said Bryant Niehoff, executive director of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation. “Their national presence and continued investment are further placing Daviess County on the map as an attractive region that is defining a new era in economic prosperity.”
